How gorgeous this woman is, Ingrid Bergman not only is one of the 5 most beautiful (the most beautiful in my opinion) woman in the history of cinema; but, she is also one of the most under rated actresses of the 20th Century. Tonight I spent nearly six hours with Ingrid thanks to the wonderful Turner Classic Movies, and I am so glad that they made these pictures available to young people like myself and others who were not alive at the time of her death, mear years after her last film, Autumn Sonata, made by the other famous Bergman from Sweden, let alone the years when she was making the beautiful films that I watched tonight (Casablanca and an Alfred Hitchcock double feature, Notorious and Spellbound.)
So, in short, thank you Turner Classic Movies, thank you Alfred Hitchcock and thank you Ingrid for the beautiful films that you gave to us.

Ahh, the wonderful Ingrid. Indeed one of, if not the most beautiful of women. Have you seen her in FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS ? Ingrid is achingly beautiful in that. Also if you get a chance you must try to see her films with her lover Roberto Rossellini. So far I only have VOYAGE TO ITALY but will be getting STROMBOLI soon. Ingrid's daughter. Isabella Rossellini, bears a striking resemblance to her mother.
I've not seen her in For Whom the Bell Tolls or her Rosellini pictures, I've mainly seen her American work and her incredible turn in Autumn Sonata

Ingrid Bergman was absolutely stunning. AND one of the finest, most subtle and heartfelt actresses who ever lived. What a really nice tribute to her! I'm not a fan of FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS in the least; however this is not attributable to either Ingrid or Gary Cooper. I just don't like the film. However, I heartily endorse everything else Weaverman says (and don't worry Weaverman, I should have STROMBOLI whisking it's way over the sea to you within the week) and VOYAGE TO ITALY is one of my favourite films. But then, when was Ingrid EVER less than superb?!?!
