I would've included Todd Field with In the Bedroom and Little Children
Some interesting (and surpising) choices there and, I admit some that I will have to look up - you are obviously more clued up on modern directors than I am. I'm sure that your blog is going to point me in some interesting direction. I have a film-maker friend who rates Ang Lee very highly but I've not seen enough to judge and Clooney's GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK seemed very worthy but dramatically flawed and I've yet to see THERE WILL BE BLOOD (I have a copy awaiting viewing) although I didn't much like BOOGIE NIGHTS.
An interesting post that got me thinking - and welcome to the club of those who can't decide what order to put things into. I've totally given up trying and now refuse to even attempt it.
